March Lion, Downs....

March is in full Lion swing here. It's so gloomy outside I have to turn lights on indoors. It's pouring rain, but barely above freezing. The wind is blowing hard, too. Bubby and I will be cozied up inside today.

I'm not sure what I have, but I'm ill, that's for certain. My sinuses feel dry and tickly and my throat is coated with "goo." I have a cough and I'm REALLY tired. Bubby has a cough, but seems well otherwise.
A big down is that a lovely lady in my family is having a miscarriage right now. Her 4th. She is in my constant prayers today.

We just got over the flu here, and then a cold hit. Now we're just about over the cold, but are fighing the various 'itis's' that came as complications to having the flu and cold so close together.

The current itis's we are fighting are:

Tonsilitis

Conjunctivitis

Sinusitus

Otitus

I have all of the above, except for the conjunctivis. 5yr old has tonsilitis, and 3yr old has conjunctivitis.

Otitus I hope is about over.

It keeps going from warm to cold here. Literally one day it's in the 70's, then the very next day it's in the 20's and snowing, then the next day it's in the mid 60s. This hot/cold stuff has got to stop. :-(

Our daughter was born at 7:17 pm, May 27th after only 2 1/2 hours of labor and 10 minutes of pushing! She weighed in at 6lbs 5 ounces and measured at 19 inches long....another little peanut! It was all-natural, baby! No induction, no pitocin, no pain relievers, no episiotomy! All prayers have been answered by the Lord except for her nursing ability. She's not a very good nurser, though she was a champ just after she was born. She's getting better, though and I continue in prayer that she improves. I pray that when my milk comes in, she'll be a great nurser. I'm also in prayer about her jaundice. I'm sorry, but I just have to gripe...

What is it with this trend of calling women "Miss" and their first name? I really dislike being called "Miss Kate." First of all, I am NOT a "Miss" and secondly, Kate is my familiar nickname. I am very proudly Mrs. Scott. Calling me Mrs. Scott does not make me feel old or detached. On the other hand, "Miss Kate" makes me sound like a child and lowered in societal and respectable standards rather than the married mother that I am. I don't want to be called Miss Kate, nor do I want my children to address adult women in that manner. Which brings up another point; men don't receive that kind of watered down respect. They get addressed properly as Mr. Smith, not Mr. John. Unfortunately, the three greatest offenders are a close friend, my sister-in-law, and my church.
